Artist Statement:

"Streets of San Francisco - Revisited"

San Francisco street scenes are the passion of Michael Rodman’s latest oil paintings. His palette knife work embraces the urban environment of the City with all its overhead cables and wires. A native of San Francisco, Michael paints vistas and views often taken for granted. His bold use of color and paint texture captures the unique lighting of the City.

A word about commissions:

People generally ask the following two questions:

1. " If I see something I like, will you paint it for me in a different size or from my favorite digital photo?" ...The answer to both is YES!

2. " What is your policy for accepting commissions?"
Your commission painting is discussed in detail on a case by case basis before starting the project. The project will be mutually agreed upon by both the client and the artist.

3. A 50% "good faith" deposit is required before the painting is started. I will then start the "homework phase" where I visit the location and take digital photos of what I think will make a great painting. I will then email you those photos for approval. Upon approval of the final composition, I will then paint your new painting. I will email photos of the painting in progress and prior to shipping the finished painting.

4. Most commission paintings can be completed in less than 30 days. I love to paint special surprise gift paintings. Your next birthday or anniversary is right around the corner, so please plan ahead. Please call me at 415-468-4449 for your special requests.
